Couple of months ago, just before Easter, I had a great pleasure of photographing this gorgeous baby girl. She was just two months old and this was her first photo session. Also, she was my youngest model by far! : )

I was very excited about this shoot and was preparing for it for a couple of weeks. I was also a little anxious, as I did not know what to expect. Is baby going to cry? Is she going to be sleepy? Cranky? How should I act in case that happens?! All those, and many other questions were going through my mind. I’ve heard many stories from my photography friends who take baby photos on a regular basis, and all of them had similar scenario happening at least once in their career. I also knew that baby’s mood depends much on their needs. Are they hungry, do they have any physical pain, like cramps for example, but also, do they feel safe and comfortable; those are very important questions when it comes to determining if baby is ready for a photoshoot or not. Luckily for me, this baby was feeling great, she was smiling all the time, and just sometimes wanted to be close to her mother, which was perfect for taking candid photos of the two of them. I also have put some wonderful classical music (babies love Corelli, just so you know) to play on my Pandora radio, and I believe that helped elevating the baby’s mood as well! 🙂

Then, we took some Easter photos. After that, photos of a baby in a decorated wicker basket, and finally we decided to take some photos with the guitar, as baby’s Father is a member of a rock band and plays a guitar. I think that baby Marina enjoyed those the most, as she was sleeping and didn’t mind being around the instrument. Who knows, maybe one day she’ll play some instrument as well!

Enjoy some of the best moments of this session.

Yours,

Maria

Baroque Punk Photoshoot (first part)

Photos that I am sharing with you today are a combination of two styles. One of them is an art style “Baroque”, which by Britannica.com has these qualities: “Some of the qualities most frequently associated with the Baroque are grandeur, sensuous richness, drama, vitality, movement, tension, emotional exuberance, and a tendency to blur distinctions between the various arts.”  Second style is “Punk”, which is aggressive form of rock music. Often politicized and full of vital energy beneath a sarcastic, hostile facade, punk spread as an ideology and an aesthetic approach, becoming an archetype of teen rebellion and alienation. So, these two amazing, yet completely opposite art forms were used in styling all lovely models in this photoshoot. There were many beautiful ballroom dresses, most unusual wigs, props and unbelievable amount of details, all put together and presented by an amazing group of artists, led by Shari Cornes. I had so much fun shooting with them!

This much for today, but Part II with more photos is coming sooner then expected! 🙂

Yours,

Maria

I always feel great amount of pleasure when I work with other creative individuals. There is nothing better than that, as you feel constant flow of creative energy and abundance of ideas.

One of those creative people that I love working with is Wendy. She is a fashion pioneer for women over fifty, but she is also a great inspiration for woman of any age. Every time after I finish a photoshoot with her, I find myself inspired! She is very kind and encouraging. Her mission is, as outlined on her website: To help every woman feel her inner and outer beauty no matter what age. To help every woman shine until the moment she takes her last breath.”

With that in mind, I am sharing with you some of my favorite photos from our latest photoshoot.

Visit her website to find out more about her and what she does by clicking here. Also, follow her on Facebook and Instagram for latest fashion updates.

Stay inspired!

Yours,

Maria

Jovana’s Baby Shower

With family and friends, Jovana celebrated the arrival of her little girl, in a beautiful Italian restaurant in Dyer, Indiana. I really loved taking photos of this event! And who wouldn’t?! From cute peach colored decorations, to a lovely cake,  games and gifts, everything was perfect!

Cake was specially designed and decorated by a professional cake decorating artist, Sladjana. I’ve heard the rumors that it took quite some time to decorate such an amazing cake. Sladjana made everything on her own, from a little baby figure at the top of the cake, to side decorations. I was impressed!

When it comes to table decor, Jovana did a perfect job by choosing peach as a main color, and adding silver elements to it. I really liked the color scheme, it seemed soft, nice and elegant.

And, last but not the least, women at this party were so beautiful and happy, which made this celebration even more joyful!

Congratulations to Jovana and her family!

Enjoy!

Yours,

Maria
